During the last two decades, significant changes in terms of health services in children's hospitals have occurred due to the addition of almost all internal pediatric subspecialties to this hospital, which has led to improving the quality and variety of educational, medical and research services in the field of children's health. About seven years ago, Mr. Haj Karim Mardani Azari, the esteemed benefactor of the province, during his visit to the children's hospital, closely observed the density of hospitalizations in the wards and decided to build a comprehensive hospital for children. In 1392, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Mr. Khair, the president of the university, the then minister, Dr. Hashemi, the then governor, Dr. Jabbarzadeh, and Mr. Nairi, the chairman of the Ministry of Health, to build a 400-bed children's hospital. In the concluded memorandum, the construction of the building is the responsibility of the honorable Khair and its equipping is the responsibility of the university. During the construction of the center, due to the need for comprehensiveness of Khair Hospital, they agreed to increase hospital beds from 400 to more than 600 beds.

With the help of the esteemed mayor, a 9.5-hectare land in Khavaran town was given to the esteemed benefactor. The roof of this hospital is more than 50,000 square meters and is the largest and most comprehensive children's hospital in the country and perhaps in the region. This hospital is being completed and with more than 95% progress, it is hoped that it will be operational by the end of 1399.
